Women’s Cell of Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology was started in the month of October, 2014.

Objectives:

• To take proactive measures towards sensitization of JIST community on gender issues.
• Generate awareness on social and environmental issues.
• To ensure social responsibility towards the institutes in the neighborhood.

Activities:

• Celebration of International Women’s Day, 2015.
• Conducting a cleanliness drive, Swach JIST on the eve of Alumni Meet, April-2015.
• Observation of International Yoga Day, 2105.
• Health Camp organized for the students in the nearby school: August 2015.
• Celebration of International Women’s Day, 2016.

We invite every student of JIST to associate with the Women’s Cell and participate wholeheartedly and willingly in the programmes organized by the Cell.
